The Giant Undertow è il progetto solista di Lorenzo Mazzilli, veneto della bassa padovana trapiantato a Bologna, attivo anche nei Johnny Clash project e The Procrastinators.
I paesaggi nebbiosi delle sue canzoni nascono da chitarre di fortuna e una voce scura. Il risultato è un desert folk profondo, tra l’immobile e l’impetuoso, che strizza l’occhio alla musica d’autore d’oltreoceano (Johnny Cash, Lee Hazlewood, Micah P.Hinson).

Nel 2016 pubblica il full-lenght THE WEAK (Shyrec, In the bottle rec., Indipendead, PoPe V, Death roots syndicate), che gli permette di suonare su e giù per lo stivale con la band e in solo, oltre che in Svizzera, Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Germania, Rep. Ceca e Slovenia, condividendo il palco con King Dude, Cult of youth e svariati altri artisti.
